Principal Engineer

Summary:

  • Develop and direct the development of all levels of software for state-of-the art customer GUIs for instrumentation products, low level drivers for leading-edge hardware and libraries of support functions.

Duties:

  • Direct small teams of software engineers in challenging projects.
  • Develop GUI-based tools for virtual instruments for signal generation and processing in the Windows environment.
  • Responsible for projects of complexity, substance, and economic value, requiring a high level of human and physical resources. A high level of intellect and breadth and depth of knowledge required.
  • Design and produce award winning products and generate novel ideas on a regular basis.
  • Troubleshoot engineering problems over a wide range of disciplines.
  • Demonstrate a continually increasing breadth of knowledge.
  • Communicate efficiently with personnel at all levels.
  • Demonstrate leadership shown by the desire of subordinates to be assigned to his or her projects and by the trust and responsibility assigned by the supervisors.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Required Education and Experience:

  • BSEE or BSCS
  • Ten years or more of related experience
  • Seven years of software design in C and C++
  • Windows GUI experience, some software project management, DSP, instrumentation and VME/VXI
Design/RF Engineer

Summary:

  • Support, development and design of RF amplifiers for Magnetic Resonance Imaging. Will support engineering, customers, production and service.

Duties:

  • Perform design tasks on subunits of larger projects or take complete responsibility for smaller projects. Requires knowledge of engineering principles and concepts, and ability to understand the integration of designs and subunits within the overall project, and consistent application of acquired knowledge.
  • Design and analyze electrical or electronic circuits or systems. Apply original and creative approaches to design tasks.
  • Work under the general supervision of a project engineer or a higher level engineering executive.
  • Plan and conduct engineering research, design, development, or manufacturing engineering assignments, normally involving several smaller or less important projects or one major project.
  • Estimate engineering personnel needs and schedules work to meet completion dates and technical specifications.
  • Coordinate and supervise junior engineers and technicians assigned to projects. Maintain liaison with various divisions. Review and evaluate results.
  • Make change in methods, designs, or equipment where necessary. Generally operate with appreciable latitude for un-reviewed action or decision.

Required Education and Experience:

  • BSEE or equivalent
  • Five years of related engineering experience
